I know... I was stupid enough to buy an e-tag. I was on my way on holiday and passed though the Manual payment toll booth at the Carousel Toll plaza. While I was making payment with my credit card, my e-tag beeped. I asked the man operating the toll booth, his reply was simply "a lot of people seem to be having the same problem". The following day I checked on my account online only to find that the Toll Plaza had charged me twice for only passing through the gates once... the first time I have paid R40- with my credit card, and the second time on my e-tag.
The booth was marked as manual only... SANRAL had no right to deduct money from my e-tag as well... I can only wonder how many other people have been caught by this tactic of SANRAL???... Please make other people aware of what SANRAL is doing!
