Upon wanting to provide a dog with a loving and caring home as I have done with so many dogs before from the SPCA, I was faced with bad attitudes and condescending comments from the SPCA.
First of all, I was told that it is in their contract that if you adopt from them that you cannot use their veterinary services. If this is their policy then they are so bad at implenting it as all of my dogs have been adoption dogs and I make use of their veterinary services regularly. I was commanded to find a private vet immediately (on a Saturday morning) when they know this is not possible.
Furthermore when they came to inspect my house, the inspector blatantly accused me of not loving or caring for my animals when it is clear that they are well fed and loved, and the only problem was that they are confined to a 50m by 50m yard (which is massive btw). They hide behind the "Animal Protection Act" that animals may not be confined but if this is the case then surely all of us are breaking the law by having walls and fences that confine dogs.
From an avid dog lover and someone who takes good care of their pets to be denied a dog because of an inspectors outrageous presumptions is RIDICULOUS
