I purchased a 650L Slimline rainwater tank and it was delivered on 16th September, 5 weeks ago. Full payment and delivery of R2109.00 was made. This weekend in Johannesburg we had lovely Highveld storms and I and my tenants were so excited to see the rains and imagine how our rainwater tank was filling up. To my horror, my tenant called me this morning to say the rainwater tank had toppled over and cracked open and broken at the top of the tank. I called Shawson Plastics and was told they do not have any guarantee on their products. I enquired if there was any way the tank could be repaired or if a representative could come out and have a look and see if the tank could be salvaged. I was informed they do not offer this service. and I would need to purchase a new one! If the tank was in good order upon delivery, that is where their service ends. I was horrified. Surely this is not a good way of getting repeat business? I was appalled that no one, particularly the female owner of the business, who informed me that I was going off at the deep end, whilst expressing my disappointment that no senior management had bothered to pick up the phone to call me.
