While visiting durban for a holiday, I went to Carlton Hair International at La Lucia Mall to have my hair dyed. I explaining that I wanted a nice light brown colour as close to my natural colour as possible, after much discussion on comparison to her own hair colour (which I said was too dark for me) she mixed up a colour and dyed my hair.
I walked out the salon with black hair (about 5 shades darker than her own hair that we compared to) and stained hair dye left all over my head and neck. When I got home I found wet dye left in my ear. I went back immediately and asked them to take the dye off and clean up my head. With no apology and a sour face they managed to get some of dye off my head but I still had a 'cap' of dye around my hair line. After complaining to them that the colour was the opposite of what I asked for, they said there was nothing they could do unless they stripped my head (which I didn't want).
I was treated terribly and feel that the staff (or one in particular) are incompetent and I will never go back or recommend them to anyone. I was treated as if it was my fault and hardly given much of am apology.
