I had purchased a six seater recliner lounge suite from Linksview Trading CC, T/A LivinStyle, for R 22, 999.00 on 27/03/2012. I was told that the product is from Malaysia & carries a one year guarantee & and a five year warranty. Within one year of purchase, the foam had sunk in and gotten out of shape, some recliners were not functioning, supporting bars & screws were falling off & plastic foot rests were disintegrating. I have been complaining to LivinStyle since the last 6 months. They do not stand by their product or honour the warranty/ guarantee. During a conversation Haroun even denied that the product carried a 5 year warranty. Upon closer examination of the invoice, I realised that '5 year warranty' was not stated on the invoice. The invoice did not bear an invoice number or a VAT number (what happened to the 14% VAT paid by me? It certainly did not go to the Receiver of Revenue). I bet the product is not even of Malaysian origin. It is a cheap import from China.
This is just to warn everyone that LivinStyle who operate from North Coast Road & Chatsworth, in Durban, are a fly-by-night operator, selling poor quality merchandise at exorbitant prices.
