My bank account is still being debited after I have asked them to cancel the account (VN-1270381-4), the reason for cancellation is a whole other matter.
After applying for a credit card this company phoned me and informed me that as a new credit card holder I am liable for this SOS Squad service free of charge, on 2 occasions during this phone conversation I explained to the person on the line that if the services cost anything I would not be interested whereupon I was reassured both times that there would be no costs.
I do believe that this business practice is illegal and it should be investigated by Standard Bank and ABSA internally as this SOS Squad had all my credit card details immediately after I applied for the card.
