I worked as a commission paid financial Advisor for liberty life cape town agency and just before I left there a few of my clients had lapsed their policies meaning I was liable to pay back Liberty for the commission that was paid to me. I was unemployed for a long time after that which means I couldn't pay the debt. Liberty life then reported my debt to a debt collector called DEBT-IN who now managed the debt. A year later I received a call from DEBT-IN requesting payment which I have been for about a year or so. The incompetence of the people who work there is beyond my comprehension as they continuously cannot pick up payments and request proof of payments and phone odd times of the month requesting payment and proof thereof, when I call them they cannot seem to pick up my reference number and they generally don't know what I am talking about. Can someone please clear this up as the debt amounted to about R12000 which is a lot if no-one can account for my reference number.
