Leith Roofing were contracted to instal a slate roof on our house in Claremont Cape Town at the beginning of the year. We were promised that the roof would be finished by the end of March 2013. it is now almost the end of May 2013 and the roof is still not finished - various delays (some foreseen eg no stock of tiles when you should know approx quantities and some unforseen eg pouring rain) have occurred but the shoddy work - haphazard and poorly done flashings, tiles falling off, uneven top of roof has also been been a problem. The last time it rained the one bedroom was flooded this despite Andrew Gilby assuring us that the roof was waterproof - just as well we delayed putting in our wooden floors. We have had to extend our lease because we are unable to do the floors or cupboards etc until we know the roof is watertight and each time we are told it is, the rains tell a different story. No-one at Leith seems to be at all interested in fixing the problem, there is no urgency and this from a company that wants further work from my husband and his partners.
