Basically the story is the same as everyone else on this forum and this thread. JM Attorneys contacted me via SMS to warn me of their placing a trace alert on the credit bureau for a debt from a health and racquet account from 1999. As the company went belly up I never renewed the contract. Anyway, they say I owe 2663.25 after 13 years. Told them where to get off. And I must admit was very rude.
Oh and also got weekly calls from their call center to say I owe them money for an iBurst account, which was paid up and cancelled (I have paperwork) from 2006!
But the most important thing is to lodge a complaint against them with the Credit Ombudsman on 0861 662 837. They are extremely helpful and easy to deal with. They will send you a form to fill in and they will deal with it.
