Standard Bank has handed my account to SBM Attorneys for collections as I was unemployed and couldn't afford to pay anymore. They are harassing me with sms's, calls, threats with Warrant. I called them regarding my account, they were so rude and very impatient. I tried to make arrangements as I couldn't afford the R1700 they said I should pay, I advised them that I can only pay R300 in installments trying to make arrangements as it is what I can afford at the moment. They refused and advised me that they will proceed with the Warrant whether I pay it or not, what is really a use of making arrangements. I dropped the phone as this guy (Collections Manager) was very rude, impossible to speak with and immediately after that I received an sms saying the Sheriff must attach furniture which was sent by him. Secondly, the issuing of Warrant of Execution against me but no Summons was served to me and/or Default Judgment just straight to the Warrant. No proper Litigation process has been followed here. I'm still shocked with the kind of treatment I have received, really shocked. I hope this matter can be resolved and proper litigation process be followed.
