I was handed over by STD bank in 2009 thanks to a misunderstanding on the part of Cell C debiting my account while I was overseas on a 2 year visa. I did the right thing by making a payment arrangement in 2011, upon my return to SA, which I stuck to every month. In about November 2012 SARS paid into the said STD bank account. After struggling with both STD bank and Shapiro Shaik for over 6 weeks, E-Mailing the proof of payment, to find and allocate this money and send me a balance, I paid what according to me was still outstanding. I never received a paid up letter, despite numerous requests. No word from lawyers since Jan 2013 and then I got a Final Demand SMS in Oct/Nov 2013 stating I owe R1300. I have tried again numerous times, Phoning, E-Mailing and faxing all correspondence and SARS proof of payment and now received another Final Demand SMS with an increased balance. My credit record is going to be destroyed and I think its shocking that I must be harassed for a debt I have ALREADY PAID!! The consultants NEVER come back to me regarding the mails sent and just insist I pay whenever I phone. Please someone sort this out because I'm actually at my wits end over this rubbish!!
