Good day, I received a credit card (R10 000) from ABSA in about 2008, in 2009 I lost my job and couldn't pay the instalments. I went on Debt review in that same year. ABSA handover balance was around R16000.00 (ridicules!!!), to Newtons Attorneys. Today after I spoke to ABSA, and Newtons Attorneys, they informed me of my outstanding balance is still R 12 087.00. My issue is, in the time from 2009 to 2013/09 I already paid R 20 242.75!!! So what the!!! How can I have settled my account twice already and still owe more than I got credit for in the first place? So for the R10 000 I borrowed from ABSA I have to pay back R 32 329.75!!! I guess I can't do anything against these big players, but just want everyone to know! This is how they work/role! I got shocked calculating all payments made! Newtons excuse is legal fees ect... So after R 20 242.75 paid, they still need R 12 087.00 on the original R10 000.00?
