I have made an arrangement 2 years ago to pay off my Cell C account on the last day of every month. I have being paying this off religiously, however I am constantly hounded with calls at work and late at night. I get calls on the 13th of the month, telling me to pay, when I clearly made an arrangement to pay on the last day. Two days later I would get another call to pay. This is harassement and not Fair Debt Collection Practices. I am even hounded with phone calls at 9pm and it is just the 21st of the month. The consultants are rude and say to me, its not them that called, its the system that has dialled, DONT YOU CHECK YOUR SYSTEM TO MAKE NOTE OF THE ARRANGEMENT?? I will refer this matter to the Law Society as this is seen as harrassment and unethical behavoiur. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act laid down specific guidelines pertaining to these procedures, which obviously VVM doesnt adhere to.
