I consulted with my attorney regarding this account and was adviced that this debt prescribed before FNB handed this debt over to your firm for collection. 10 years had passed without FNB claiming this debt before handing it over to your firm for collection. As your company should be aware, in terms of the Prescirption Act, a debt is deemded to have prescribed if its been 12 years since last payment and in that time i have not been summoned in respect of it. this debt was also written offi in 2008. Most firms and assume that consumers are not aware of their rights hence, you continue to harrass us and threaten us with legal action if we dont pay, but you fail to advice cleints that debts have prescribed because all you want to do is collect, but thanks to Attorneys who can advice us. As a result of this, i hereby request your firm close this file and account. If your firm is not in agreement with this, kindly provide me with proof to substantiate why you disagree. Can i also be provided with a detailed statement from your firm please, failing which i will have no option but to institute legal action agai
