I am not writing about 1 particular incident, but rather my experience as a regular bidder. BoB does not protect buyers against excessive P & P. On more than 1 occasion the actual postage was R21 when the seller had charged between R50 and R80. I once received my item in a ricoffy tin... so what was the seller's packaging cost? ZERO! Most sellers do not spend much on packaging. It is not rocket science to figure out that they use boxes found free from supermarkets, etc and most people have newspaper lying around, the medium of choice for extra protection.
Certain sellers inflate their price/profit with postage cost, especially on the R1 antique & collectibles auctions. It should not be too difficult for BoB to generate an exception report to check for shipping charges in excess of a certain amount and to send a friendly reminder to those sellers.
Why should some sellers be allowed to get away with unfair practices?
