Over the years I have often used NetFlorist to deliver flowers and have always been satisfied with the result. My recent experience however was not so good. I had ordered a flower arrangement with a teddy bear to be delivered to Sandton Clinic. The cost of the flowers was R480 and the total bill, with delivery etc, was over R900. Ridiculous price for flowers, but I felt it was worth it as the arrangement consisted of roses, lilies and gerberas. In fact what was delivered was some roses, lilies and gerberas and half a vase of chrysnathemums and green filler. The seams of the teddy bear have started coming apart within 2 weeks. When I complained Zainab Ebrahim at first argued that the correct flowers were delivered. Clearly the florist was cutting costs by charging full price for the item but then delivering a cheaper option. This is not what I ordered. Afer pushing the issue they have offered me R200 voucher - which I will accept. But their business ethics leave much to be desired, and are clearly contrary to the consumer legislation..
