On the 12 of March I added my new born baby that was born on the 15th of December to my Medical aid. I received the certificate of membership confirming the addition and the new monthly instalment of R1 671 per month with no penalties. I was surprise to see on 1st of April my account being debited R2 800 by the medical aid. I decided to phone the customer service who it took them 20min to tell me what the additional fee of R1129 was was for. I was told that I was being charge from the 15th of Dec until date for new baby. With me being surprised that I was being charge for the baby that was not covered in medical aid requested information supporting this charge, but up until today I have not received the information. This is reaping people off on high level; it is really is unethical for a business to be practising such act without communicating clearly the same to the people. This year when enquired about the process to follow when adding a new baby, I was told that the baby must be on the mother's medical aid to be covered from birth, but now I am being charge of the same service which I told that I did not qualify for. What a joke!
