When I was young I took out life insurance with Discovery Life. With it I got Vitality and gym membership. I've been to gym as they required for YEARS. Then my wife got a new job and it included benefits so we decided to move to Discovery health medical aid. The broker "forced" us to move the vitality to the health. I assumed it was one company. NOT. They cocked it up and we had to make many phone calls to fix everything plus suddenly I was paying for gym membership! WHAT... no one told me I was now going to pay extra. I laughed it since phoning was less than the payments in PAIN AND SUFFERING.
Now my wife moved jobs to the government. GEMS was the only solution. She cancelled the medical aid and instructed them to move the Vitality back to her and my life insurance. Apparently I have to make phone calls for all THREE divisions of this company since they don't talk to one another. So they cancelled our member ship.
ADVICE:
1. Discovery life insurance is expensive... shop around
2. Discovery Vitality service is a joke... shop around
3. Discovery life is a joke. Benefits never match private medical rates EVER. Shop around
