I am a frequent guest at the City Lodge group of hotels and today, 1st of March 2013, I had to firstly wait to be checked in at City Lodge Fourways. Being tired and irritated after a long journey that was not pleasant.
Then when we approached our room for the night (room 421), there was some filth on the walls at the entrance which was not very pleasant. As we entered the room I smell that it is a smoking room. I specifically booked a non-smoking room due to my allergy and sinus problem. I called reception to find out the reason for this wrong room and was told there wasn't any non-smoking rooms available. The receptionist by the name of Brandon did not even apologize for my situation.
I am very disappointed with this whole booking as I was always impressed with the City Lodge especially this Fourways branch. I trust that you will improve the booking system to ensure availability of the rooms that one chooses and the cleanliness of the hotel be maintained...
