Incompetent Accounts Department

On the 02/02/2012 my GP sent samples away for testing to Lancet Lab. I did not receive any accounts or phone calls from them so I was under the impression that the accounts were paid by my Medical Aid. I received an account dated 07/01/2013 informing me that the account was never paid. Upon investigating I found out that Lancet submitted the accounts to the incorrect Medical Aid and never bothered to inform me that the account has not been paid. Within a few days after I received a call from ITC-BA informing me that Lancet had handed me over to Debt collectors. How on earth can a person be handed over within a few days after receiving the first statement. Surely this is in contravention of the CPA. It seems from the majority of posts on this website are bullying and UNETHICAL tactics on Lancets behalf. I have informed my GP about this and he will shortly be removing Lancet from their provider list after many complaints from patients.
