We checked into Urban Park Hotel, Umhlanga (30.01.2013) and was impressed with the place and warm welcome, as we checked into the room all was fine until we decided to have a shower which leaked resulting in the whole place being drenched in water. also there was construction taking place which was really annoying as it was right accross from the room we stayed in, we brought this to the attention of management who then moved us to another room on the same floor, the room was a little nicer however there was a urine likestench which emanated throughout the room, we notified reception who sent up someone to FRESHEN up the place, that just masked the smell for a bit. we had to call a number of times to have the room made up which only happened on the day we checked out (02.02.2013). Aside from Jacqueline (frontline staff) the rest of the staff was not friendly at all, the noise was just constant and annoying as it was constant and we could get much rest or privacy. i do understand that construction is still taking place at the hotel but should guest have a bad experience? Why does the guest need to beg for service, totally not what i expected from this chain...
