29/06/2017 I received an email and a call from Van Rhyns Attorneys informing that I owe R437 on my 2015 acc which was a med aid short fall and that I need to pay it within 7 days to prevent a judgement and that I've already been listed on the ITC . I then sent the lawyers proof of payment of R440 and was told to wait for feedback from the Dr's accounts department and when I called the Dr's accounts department I spoke to an extremely rude lady that then said that it was legal fees as my account had already been handed over and that she can't assist as the matter is with the lawyers. Long story short after stressing about my credit record being affected and calling endlessly and spending on making calls it was discovered that they had made a mistake and I did not receive an apology. My thought is, God forbid had I not kept my proof of payment to help dispute the matter I would be facing an ITC record which would have cost me a significant amount of money to remove it... and the supposed "outstanding bal". What an inconvinience, I would advise any patient that's seeing them to keep their POP's and brace themselves for a possible dispute.
