I was signed up as a Vitality member when I joined Discovery Health. Because I live in the boondocks I could not and did not make use of any gym, movie tickets or other deals. I'm now on pension and suddenly realized after 14 years I need my Vitality membership fees for other more pressing expenses.
3 or more months ago I called Discovery to cancel my Vitality membership. Very friendly and helpful people at this call center; just Colgate smiles all the way. The lady said: "A consultant will call you back to cancel the membership". No callback no action! Called again a few days later - received the same promise again - and as you expected, no action.
My lucky day came 2 weeks ago when a Mr Mujeeb Bray from Discovery wrote me an email nogal in my home language, Afrikaans, (thanks a lot!) inquiring whether another query I had was solved. With a job title of DIENSHOOF (Head of Service) he was just my man! "Any additional commentary will be appreciated" and he then thanked me for the valuable information.
I gave him ALL his information in a polite non sarcastic way and then requested him to CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP without even getting a consultant to call me - as you expect no action
