Waiting period (Never been without medical aid)

Dear Discovery Health.

I am currently on medical scheme at Medihelp. In fact I have been on a medical aid my entire life.
I want to move to Discovery, because Discovery is suppose to be very good. I applied for the Classic saver plan at Discovery. Now you want me to go on a waiting period for 3 months. In that 3 months, Discovery wants me to pay FULL price, but not get any benefits, except if its life threading. Nobody can tell me exactly why Discovery wants me to have a waiting period. On the counter offer, the reason for the waiting period states that, I have had medical aid for more that 24 months, and no breaks in between. I also was not hospitalised in the last 4 years.
I have asthma and use chronic medication, but like I stated I HAVE NEVER BEEN WITHOUT MEDICAL AID MY ENTIRE LIFE. I AM STILL ON MEDICAL AID.
How can you expected me to wait 3 months? What is the difference in moving form 1 medical aid to another?
Looks to me like Discovery wants to make money of me the next 3 months, without giving me a service. I can be on another medical aid for more 10 years, still if I want to move to discovery, I will have a 3 month waiting period.
