Netcare
Not caring about babies

Good day,

Our 7 month old baby was admitted to Unitas hospital on the 19 December 2013 to get a drip.

After they put in the drip, our baby screamed for 2-3 hours. My Wife called the nurse on duty and told her something is wrong and she just said the the pain medication will kick in. When I arrived another nurse showed me to the room and finally check the drip. They have put the drip in incorrectly. His hand was swollen to three times the normal size. His hand is still swollen no more then a month after and we took him to a docter that said if it does not look better by end of Jan we need to bring him back. They main reason he was taken to hospital was to get a drip and the it up big time.
I'm not sure if the equipment also did not work correctly because in more then one time the equipment that was used on our family did not work correctly,
We will never use Netcare Unitas again and will recommend to our friend also not to use them.

There is some good nurses but some of them just don't care and for the price you are paying for service? We were charge R6500 for the night and half of the medication was for the condition our baby was put in because
of neglect by the nurse
