We were on holiday. Paulinah, domestic helper called on Tuesday, 18Dec to say that our 8year old husky is sick. He vomited and had a seizure. Being away from home, I immediately called my sister to take the dog to Waterkloof Veterinary Clinic. I called the clinic's emergency no and told them that my sister will be bringing Rexie. My sister took Rexie with Paulinah. Dr v Schouwenburg, our usual dr was not on duty. Rexie was apparently "frantic". The doctor on call was Rene Mostert. I was told that the vet said that "there was nothing wrong with Rexie". Rexie died on 19Dec at 6:00 found in the rain with blood coming from his nose. How could a dog with whom nothing was wrong die the next day-there must have been something wrong. It transpired that Dr Mostert did not even examine Rexie. She merely dismissed his behaviour as "typically husky" and gave him a treat-she did nothing, did not even take his temperature or listen to his heart-we required medIcal help and a standard exam was not even done. It is heartbreaking that a vet who has a calling is so unprofessional, dismissive, inattentive and not interested. Dr Mostert you dishonor your practice & your profession-you chose to do nothing
