While I articled I was on CAMAF medical aid. I had an operation end had to drink parlodel medication for many years every day of my life. The medication was very expensive and my Doctor and Pharmacist wrote a letter to CAMAF asking them to pay my medication from Oncology because if I did not drink my medication there was a possibility that I could get cancer. CAMAF medical aid approved it.
When I moved to a new job I had to go over to discovery because the company was at discovery. They did not want to pay my medication from oncology. My savings was finished by the middle of each year and I had to pay my medication myself. Money that I did not have because I had to pay between R2000 and R3000 for discovery every month. Later my Dr suggested that I go for radiation in order to stop the medication. After the radiation everything in my body is messed up. I have a thyroid problem, all my hormones is messed up and suddenly I have a weight problem. I'm going for one blood test after another to try to find out what is wrong. I even went for Insulin test. Now suddenly that is not a medical test and I have to pay for it myself. Its because of discovery taking and not giving that I'm sick
