My girlfriend went into hospital for an emergency and was admitted to Olivedale clinic at around 10pm on the 21st of August 2013. She was eventually discharged at around 2am the next morning. ER Consulting then made a claim against her Discovery health insurance account but apparently submitted it as a "day to day" and not as an emergency. Therefore the fund were taken from her savings. Since there was not enough funds she is now being charged for the hospital bill. Discovery is refusing to pay because it wasn't submitted as an emergency and ER consulting are refusing to change it. Who goes into a hospital at 10pm for a check up? Of course it was an emergency! What is the point of having a medical aid?
I understand that Discovery aren't really to blame here, but ER consulting don't respond and I don't know who else to speak to.
