Today is the last day of my programme at MCIC/MCIL. I have read with interest the reports on Hello Peter both good and not so good.
What I want to say to the folk out there that did not enjoy or find value in their experience at the Halfway House and any future potential folk that are considering and need a Halfway House; if it's a gingerbread house straight out of a fairytale that you're looking for then perhaps this is not the Halfway House for you.
However, if you are looking for a "home" away from home with real people, real emotions, up's and downs and curveballs then this is the place for you. If you need the skills required to deal with your imperfect selves, homes, relationships, jobs and lives that contributed to your addictions then you need to be here because if you choose a perfect island on which to heal, help you when you leave and reality bites again!
Derryth, thank you for the life changing and very valuable lessons & sessions you, your staff, your awesome family and your gorgeous pitbulls have shared with me. I'm a wiser person today for having been in your beautiful space and I know that my life will never be the same again - hallelujah :-)
