My young daughter was due for an operation on Thursday 24/1/2013.
We had done all the pre-admission paperwork and been to the hospital to make sure everything was booked and pre-admission was done.
We were advised to be there by 11-30 so she could be checked into a ward and get into theatre by 13-00.
We got there at 10-30 to be sure. They messed us around with having to wait, redoing paperwork already done before, checking with the doctor's rooms that was already done before, checking with the medical aid despite already having done it and already having the authorisation number, and so on and on.
My daughter had to go to the ward without me as she was now very late and then rushed to theater to be in time for the operation again without her father as the administration chaos was so much more important to Netcare,
Seriously pathetic, atrocious and unacceptable to what is supposed to be a reasonable hospital.
