I was a client of Fedhealth for 6 continuous years and unfortunately had to leave the medical aid. After 9 months with the new medical aid I returned to Fedhealth as my experience had been quite positive. Definitely not so anymore.
Upon return my previous record with Fedhealth seems to count for nothing and I had to re-apply as if I was some guy off the street with all the waiting periods and the 1-year chronic medicine rules etc. I found this quite confusing as I was away from Fedhealth for less than a year and still under cover of another medical aid, surely any pre-existing conditions are already known. Does the 6 year period really not carry any weight? Nobody can explain this reasoning to me, 'it's just how it works'.
I need pre-authorisation for gastroscopy. Since I have returned and apparently 'have not been with the medical aid for a year' I must wait for underwriters to sign off on everything, like I am trying to them. I don't have the time. Client loyalty means squat in terms of service delivery, so I plan to take my leave after paying for everything myself. Thanks for nothing Fedhealth. Maybe try less glossy magazines and more actual client care in future
