W e had no water at home. Decided to stay at a hotel that caters for Halaal it's Ramadaan. I enquired beforehand with Alcazaba Lodge before booking the room. They advised they have 24 hours reception, parking and rooms available. At the lodge, it took an hour and a half to fix the card machine, used the ATM machine outside at 11:00PM! I enquired whether they have room service and cater predawn meals, they weren't sure. Got two small jugs of milk and two small Tupperware of cereal. Discovered I had to use a parking that just had a fence around across the hotel for R50 your own risk. No one opened gate at parking. Had to park my car outside on the street. The receptionist mentioned that the Lodge is not responsible if anything happens to my car. I couldn't sleep my car parked on the street and after an hour packed our bags and pass 12am headed back home. They call themselves a four star hotel. I would not even rate them as a one star. With such poor service, no knowledge on operation of the lodge, no transparency regarding the parking costed me to waste R450.00! I would rather go to a non halaal hotel because I know my needs would be catered for even if I have to bring my own food.
