I have cystic fibrosis (conic lung disorder with lung function of 28% of a normal person) and had a spontaneous tension pneumothorax (collapsed lung) On arriving at Life Carstenhof Clinic emergency the electric doors wouldn't open i had to force them open. when my wife finaly got the second door open we were told to "site there". i was literally blue in the face and suffocating to death apparently very viably. i needed a chest drain put in immediately to relieve the pressure on my lungs. when my wife informed doctors and nurses of my condition and status we were ignored as if we didn't know anything. Having this disorder i am in and out of hospital on a monthly basis and know exactly what it is how to deal and of life threatening it is. my medical alert bracelet was not even checked. i was attended to yes but with no sense of urgency. it took 40mins to get a drain into my chest. I was close to death and my wife was told all they can do is put a drain in me and nothing else.
Life Carstenhof Clinic sould not be allowed to be called an emergency hospital.
