Wow Discovery Vitality! Really surprised to see 95% complaints and only 5% compliments!
I have Gold Status with Discovery Vitality and a Discovery Credit Card and between the two of them I receive incredible savings. Cash back from Healthy food and credit card is R 3240 for last 12 months. Smart shopper a further R 1283. Add the gym fee savings of 80% at Virgin Active - R 5136 for the year and it adds up to R 9659 for the year. This far outweighs the R 1860 for vitality for the year and the annual R 375 Credit Card fee. Total savings: R 7424 for the year! I am however very health conscious so I probably save quite a bit more than the average person...
Bear in mind that Discovery doesn't pay until your total cashback is above a minimum amount. And Discovery is super strict with what they classify as healthy food so your cashback may be delayed until the amount is above their minimum.
Complaints: had multiple admin / call centre probs with increasing credit card limit beginning of the year. E-mailed me forms with wrong limit and didn't respond to e-mails or phone back... and why no chip in the credit card in this day and age and level of crime?
