I for many years had a costal core plan from discovery. That covers me for elective surgery and emergency medical care. In January I contact them about getting my impacted and painful wisdom teeth removed. Oh yes I am covered for that but since I am not on the coast anymore I must change to the inland core plan or I will have to pay in 30% of the bill! So I call up my broker and she changes me to the inland plan in Feb. Cost on the coastal core was R989.00 about, cost on my new plan R982.00 about. A difference of seven bucks! But when I called them on Friday, they informed me that I am not covered for elective surgery on the new plan. R7 difference and they don't cover me. Be careful people, discovery are a bunch of cheats that hide behind fine print. oh and the broker who did the change, she isn't calling me back either.
