My wife has been with discovery for the past 8 months. She discovered a sist which have developed in the last 5 months which she needs to get removed. Then discovery not only turned down the operation, but they also canceled the contract because THEY believe my wife on the application. The gynecologist wrote a letter explaining to discovery that this is a NEW sist which has formed in the past 5 months and that my wife could have had NO IDEA THAT SHE WOULD NEED A OPERATION. Discovery still said my wife. I asked them to look at the matter again, BUT THE REQUEST WENT TO THE SAME DOCTORS. How pathetic, as they of course would have the same view. Even with written PROOF FROM THE GYNECOLOGIST, discovery STILL refused to reinstate her policy. She NEEDS the operation which will cost in total R28000. Isn't that why we have medical aid? To be prepared for unforeseen circumstances like these. You think you're covered and then your health in the hands of 2 PERSONS AT DISCOVERY, Theo Kretzmar and Aminda Bronkhorst? So it's their view against ours and we can't do anything. I have asked Deniece Soobramoney for a SIGNED letter from them, but 5 days later, and STILL nothing!!!
