After living with a back injury for 10 years, during which thousands of rands were spent on "conservative" treatment, both a Neuro surgeon AND orthopedic surgeon confirmed that back surgery would be needed, bankmed decided to send me for an assessment by one of their biokinetesist's. After the initial assessment by the bio, I was asked to speak to the "doctor" (GP?). Without questions about my injury and symptoms I am experiencing OR even looking at x-rays or MRI scans which I offered to him, he read the report and decided that I need 6 weeks rehab in his program. My problem is far more than just week muscles but he wouldn't know that because he didn't even look at any of the scans.
Bankmed has now withheld the authorisation because of this report and requested motivation from my specialist for the surgery.
Nobody wants to have back surgery but I cannot live a normal life with my family as I am in pain 24 hrs a day!!!
Surgery is my only hope. I am only 35 and have 2 young kids... I love being active but thanks to bankmed i am being robbed of living a good quality life with my young family...
Totally contradicting the "vitality" and e-bounce programs
