On the 11th of Nov'15 at the Joe Slovo Rd, Klerksdorp, Macdonalds at around 18h00 PM:
*We went through their drive through, gave our order loud and clear, the lady even repeated what we said and we confirmed with her yes the large: 2 x Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal with 2 x Coke Zero with no ice.
*The screen that normally shows our order, just kept on showing the message can i take your order. We moved along to pay.
*The lady took our card, she gave an amount of R88 something, which didnt sound correct, so we then asked her is it correct as we ordered the Double, she just said yes it is, when she gave us the slip, it was for medium something burger, we said to her this cant be correct as we ordered 2 x Double Quarter Pounder with cheese? She again repeated that it is correct.
*We moved on to the collection window, the lady handed our order to us, i opened the box and showed her this is not the correct stuff. You could see in her attitude, she is not in the mood for this and just wanted to get us out of her face, we gave it back to her and repeated our order, she again after a few seconds gave us a packet and it again was incorrect.
*We told her we are not going to take this stuff, we want the correct take away, we will pay in the balance if that is the case.
*Very irritated she called the lady who took our order in her mother tong.
*When she arrived we told her what we ordered, she said ok she will credit it and charge the correct take away.
*When she returned to the window, she had the slip and change in her hand, and said that we have to pay R 10 odd rand additionally.
*She expected us to give her cash, and we didn't have cash on us, she looked very despondent.
*We started scratching every where, and luckily found some loose change, which we gave her.
*When we asked her is the order correct now, she looked puzzled.
*The order was again processed incorrectly and again she would need to credit and we would again need to pay in.
*By this time the cars was pilling up, we were getting very annoyed, how can they get this simple instruction incorrect over and over again.
*She eventually said, can we please wait in the parking area, she will bring our order as it is now in the back of the queue (basically all the cars behind us are now actually in front of us...)
*We did as she asked, and waited a while.
*I then climbed out and walked in, asked both their names. (Shift Manager: Dorothy Secape and lady whom took our order: Modiegi Sekosae)
*She got our order ready and i took her name, she firstly said something in her mother tong which i could not understand to the other lady whom took my order (probably saying she is taking our names) and then wrote down the other lady's name.
*The entire time she was despondent and not in the mood to be there and just wanted to get things over with (this is the lady whom handed our order to us at the last window)
Unfortunately if your name tag says shift manager/boss, you are the one that is supposed to run things, and stick on a happy face for your customers, even though you are not in the mood? In retail this is how it works and you are SUPPOSED TO KNOW THIS. I mean really you should know how to handle this situation a lot better!
I myself have worked in retail and for that reason it makes me so SAD that this is what it has come to.
We are disgusted with the service.
MACDONALDS WILL NOT SEE US AGAIN, AND BE ASSURED THAT WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND MACDONALDS!!!
The quality of service is EXTREMELY POOR!!!!!!!!!
Most people are in such a hurry (and that is why they go to get take aways) they dont have time to report this, or put much effort in to actually tell Macdonalds of the poor service they have received. It is for this reason, that i have now made time to do this!
Unfortunately these days people dont take pride in their work and that is the reason why our service levels are poor/zero, WHY EMPLOYEE PEOPLE THAT DOESN'T WANT TO BE THERE?
I probably wont get a reply to this complaint, couldn't find a link on Macdonalds website to complain to them directly.
