Samsung South Africa
MALFUNCTIONING PHONE

In November 2012 I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 on contract with MTN. At the end of November 2013 the battery started to run flat in a very short period. Days went by and the phone wouldn't fully charge, only 60% after charging for over 12 hours of uninterrupted power supply. I took the phone to the MTN high volume repair centre where they told me the problem was my charger which was faulty and I bought a new charger. A day later the phone was flat and wouldn't charge at all. I called Samsung offices and they referred me to the repair centre in Century City. I got there and they examined my phone and told me they had to replaced the motherboard as it was malfunction. Moreover I had to leave phone there over Christmas holidays and fetch it in the new year. No courtesy was offered as a token of good customer service. They were supposed to call me when the phone was fixed but never did. I was frustrated as I then had no phone and had to purchase one out of my pocket. I am sure Samsung is aware of all technical issues yet they do nothing. I won't buy a Samsung product again and advise people to have a back up phone if they intend buying a Samsung phone.
