This e-mail serves as a warning to alert online shoppers about a I discovered while enquiring about a product being advertised on Gumtree. I browsed Gumtree and saw an ad for brand new DJ equipment worth R14 000 being sold for half the price. I replied via Gumtree and in response the seller told visit his company's website via a link in his e-mail. After doing some investigating I found the following:
o The website is not on the [URL Removed] It is a fake website that resides on a PC. Google cannot find the website. This is the hyperlink to the fake website [URL Removed]
o The company registration number on the website was different to the one an invoice sent to me and they belonged to legitimate companies that are in no way affiliated with IVALLEY
o The phone number supplied was fake and does not work
o The physical address was and belonged to a legit courier company that is in no way affiliated with IVALLEY
o The terms and conditions stated that Malaysian law will apply should a dispute arise yet the company claims to be RSA based
After I made the seller aware that I know that he is a scammer, he changed all the above mentioned details on his website.
