BRAND NEW GALAXY S3 DUD

Yesterday I picked up my brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 from Nashua Mobile. Put on the phone and looked at it for 5min. The phone locked and the screen wont work at all. You have to take the battery out to switch it off. I am not angry at Nashua Mobile. They did what they had to, I am really unhappy with Samsung. Did they not test the phone before sending it out?? This is the 2nd time a brand new Samsung phone is not working. I thought to give the S3 a chance as everyone was raving about it. I am really dissapointed and want to know is this the quality I can expect from Samsung??
