I'm complaining on behalf of my boyfriend, who's a student at CPUT.
My boyfriend is an Internal Auditing student at CPUT's Cape Town campus. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he hasn't be able pass his third year and graduate with a National Diploma in Internal Auditing. Now, I know that students are entitled to a rewrite, irrespective of how many subjects that may have failed (and I understand that certain tertiary institutions will have a limit of rewrites in place). CPUT placed on notice boards at their Cape Town campus a list of students who "qualified" to rewrite, however, my boyfriend's name wasn't listed.
I've only been informed today about this and I was completely APPALLED AND EXTREMELY DISGUSTED that they disallowed him to rewrite because he has failed two subjects. It's like they're telling him that he's stupid for wasting his time and money and won't give him entrance into the exam. I'm a graduating student at an FET college and they allow students to rewrite, irrespective of how many subjects that may have failed. Now if an FET college can get that right, why couldn't CPUT do it?
I want all of his three years tuition to be reimbursed or legal action will be taken.
