I have just had a very disappointing meeting with my builder. He has just advised that he is exiting and terminating his contract without valid reason.
My fiance and I appointed our contractor last year to build our new home in Northcliff. Our project will be bonded by a financial institution and we have submitted all the documents to them that is required and It has taken us months to get to this stage.
Initially his price was very attractive and therefore we have accepted. Building up to commencement date I have continuously requested a breakdown for the building works and has promised to produce such document but never has. I am most certain that he exercised misconduct all this time and given us false hope to what we should get. This type of conduct is a direct violation of his responsibilities as a qualified builder as well as stripping us from our consumer rights.
Currently, our builder has excavated on site and left soil which is not propped for about 4 meters high and causes severe danger to our neighbours if it is not attended to soon. We have had several meetings with the contractor and he had led us on to think that he will complete the project.
