We contracted Superfab last year to provide a steel structure and erect a store building. The services and materials provided by Superfab are not to the standard expected of an engineering company in this specific industry. I list the major complaints, all for which I have written / physical proof and / or witnesses:
* accounting practices
* engineering practices
* Poor adherence to project scope
* Illegal (i.t.o. OHSA) fabrication / production practices
* Blacklisted at various sub-suppliers
* Unprofessional client interaction / communication
* Poor site / construction / labor management
* Poor overall project management (e.g. late project delivery, poor PM reporting, etc.)
If you really want to deal with this company, I strongly recommend that you insist on contractual terms and conditions favorable to you (e.g. no / small project kick-off deposit, payment on / after delivery, non- / poor performance penalties, etc.). And make sure you contract a very good lawyer with the right connections at the same time. Superfab's T's & C's leaves you with no way to control and ensure sucessful and satisfactory project delivery.
