Inferior result and terrible customer service

During April 2013 we had the bath of our holiday home resurfaced by Mend-a-Bath, Somerset West. We previously had a bath resurfaced by the same franchise in Pretoria and was very happy with the result. Upon our arrival in Somerset West during late April 2013 we noticed that the bath had various chip marks and the bath was not smooth and shiny as we expected, but rough and porous, with a powdery residue. We contacted Henno Fourie of Mend-a-Bath and he came to our house and said that the bath is fine and that the powdery residue is normal and we should clean the bath with an ammonium based product. This is strictly forbidden in the guarantee. Up to this point we had only used the bath twice and it was so porous that we were not able to remove dirty feet marks without diligent scrubbing. We left the bath uncleansed to show Henno Fourie just how porous the bath was. Henno undertook to polish the bath at his own cost between 1 and 15 December 2013.
After numerous failed attempts to schedule an appointment for the bath polish we gave up. Henno is unwilling to assist us. The guarantee means nothing.
Please do not use this company, you will be disappointed.
