My father recently moved into a retirement resort, a brand new flat with a brand new Carrier airconditioner. He hardly moved in when the airconditioner broke down. Belfreeze was notified, and they sent out a technician to investigate. The diagnosed the problem, but could not fix it because... wait for it... their ladder was too short. Seriously.

Not only was it the same company who installed the aircon a few months before, knowing the ladder it required, but the contact person at the company told me flat out they are actually "closed" for the holiday season, and cannot help me. That, despite the fact that their website offer (and I'm quoting) a "24/7 breakdown service". No mention anywhere about holidays. My father is old, will have to stay in the flat where the temperature is soaring till this company reopens.

Not only am I unimpressed with the Carrier brand (I use Daikin, never had a problem), but am appalled at this company's behaviour. I will advise the retirement resort's management to NOT use this company again. And hope my father's health won't deteriorate due to heat exhaustion, because if it does...
