Do not be fooled by this roof supplier's initial friendly service. On delivery it all went wrong. This happened: 1) Only 8 trusses were delivered, not 9 as my plan required that I sent to them to quote on. They referred to the tender I signed but on it they didn't indicate the quantity of trusses either. They then said they worked on a 1.2m distance between each truss hence why they only supplied 8. It is very poor communication on their part to only inform me of this on the day of delivery. 2) Secondly, as I had already paid a 75% deposit, on the day of delivery of the trusses they required that I pay the last 25% i.e R5345, but they said the roof sheeting wouldn't accompany the trusses yet. I asked for confirmation on when the sheeting would be delivered - after several irrate phone calls they said they would deliver within a week, but could not commit to exactly when. They still insisted that I pay because the tender document states that payment must be made before delivery. I refused to pay if delivery is not on the same day. They then said I must source the roofsheeting elsewhere - how's that for service? 3) Lastly, a problem with the quantity of purlins. Skip this supplier.
