Suntank Solar
Suntank System illegal according to S.A. Law

Our Suntank installation is NOT COMPLIANT AS PER THE LAWS OF SOUTH AFRICA (as verified by a third party plumber). No PIRB Compliance Certificate was issued. The system does not meet SANS Standards 10106 for Solar Installations as per the following: No thermostatic mixing valve was installed, the panels were not mounted at a 35-40 degree angle (which also is the reason the system is inefficient and doesn't function as it should (insufficient hot water)). The high intake pipe was not hot as it should be, to the touch, at 5:30pm today, also proving inefficiency), the pipe going to the house plumbing is PEX rather than the necessary copper, there was no timer installed at the DB Board. This system installed by Suntank is illegal according to S.A. law, as it stands at this time. Suntank, please rectify these issues. (Suntank also booked a day to test the system on site, but they cancelled it over two weeks ago, and I haven't heard from them since.) We're still struggling with this company to resolve the ineffective system.
