I saw the add in the Alberton Record for Volta Electrical stating Compliance certificate R399. I called them and Jan Bornman answered and said that R399 was for flats but R570 for a house with pool and servants quarters. I said I dont have those things and he said then he would charge me less than R570. He came to my house with his wife. Both of them talk a lot. They talk about to gain your trust. They knew I urgently needed an electrical compliance certificate and said I need to pay R570 upfront before he does anything. I mentioned that he said it would be cheaper but he denied it. They played the victim saying people don't pay when they have done the work so I must pay first or else they will leave. I only had R520 and he took it saying I owe R50. They walked around my house saying everything was faulty. They even found fault with things done by certified electricians sent by the insurance company. When I questioned this he got angry and said I should get my husband to call him. He wanted to leave. I said he didn't do any work. He said I must first pay R50. I drew R50 and gave him he took the money and left. Now whenever my husband tries to call him he hangs up. Real!
