We sold our house and the company that our estate agent recommended, Techno electrical, are dishonest.
They said we had a beetle infestation and needed to replace wooden beams in our garage in order to get rid of the beetle.
When asked why we had to rebuild the garage rather than treat the beetle with pesticide they said "they don't do that"
Subsequently, I had a good look at the so-called beetle infestation, after educating myself about what active vs inactive beetle looks like, and noted that the beetle was INACTIVE. I called in the same beetle inspector, pointed out why the beetle was inactive and he then had to agree with me.
The company then suggested that instead of replacing the beams, they would insert pesticide into the beams "just in case"
I asked why we had to treat something that isn't there.
They then issued a certificate saying we had no beetle.
With the electrical certificate, they quoted us R11 000 for extensive repairs
We then called in another company who quoted R5600 for the same job.
The plumbing was fixed for R1900 where Techno quoted R2200 (R450 =R2650)
We have still been billed R2250 for this dishonest "inspection". WHat a cheek.
